RM of Spalding’s story
The Rural Municipality of Spalding No. 368 became an incorporated rural municipality on December 11, 1911. Its office is in the village of Spalding, and a council elected by residents, working with an appointed administrator, meets on the first Wednesday of each month.
One of the oldest landmarks in the RM is St. Michael's Anglican Church, dedicated on May 17, 1909, about 20 kilometres southeast of Daphne. The church and its cemetery are recognized as heritage properties. The church held services until 1943.
Farming remains the mainstay of the local economy.
